This morning I attend the Restaurant Association seminar and I left very inspired after listening to Luke Dallow who is a real success story in the hospitality industry. Luke owns Sales St and Chapel Bar & Bistro and soon to open Red Hummingbird and gave some top tips on how to market and promote your business and I would like to share these with you.

5 tips on building a brand that will build your business
- Consistency pay dividends – 360 branding – every place where your band touches your customers brochures, website, packaging, uniforms, letterheads. Media, advertising – should feel like the same experience
- Invest in your brand wisely - My formula in spending on my brand is that every dollar I spend I need to get 5 dollars back. PR companies, media and hospitality.
- Dare to be different - A strong brand is a tiebreaker in tennis. If it is a toss up between you and your competitor, customers will choose you because they feel better about your brand – but this comes with being different.
- Understand what a brand is and is not - A brand is a bond – where you consistently deliver on your promise.
- Scope out the competitive “brand-scape” - step back and access your competition with a critical objective eye, what you are looking for is a gap in the brand scape where you can pounce
